The University needed to convert and renovate the five upper floors of an existing 1960s clinic space into academic office suites. This ten-million-dollar project was fast-tracked with a completion date in 100 days. GLHN had to maintain the air conditioning, power and data in occupied spaces immediately adjacent to the work; develop dust and noise mitigation strategies; perform hazardous material abatement; and safely and efficiently dispose of demolition material from upper floors.
Working under a design-build contract with Lloyd Construction, we designed substantial reconfigurations and upgrades to the aging MEP infrastructure to serve the modern needs of high profile academic departments within the College of Medicine. In response to the time constraints, we used multiple GMP packages, multiple construction shifts, and real-time problem resolution.
