GLHN + Core Construction partnered with the University of Arizona to modernize the Food Product and Safety Lab, enhancing functionality, safety, and academic impact while maintaining ongoing operations.

Located within the University of Arizona’s 160-acre Campus Agricultural Center, the Food Product and Safety Lab (FPSL) offers students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) an immersive, hands-on environment for learning. Strategic upgrades were necessary to maintain the facility’s role as a teaching, research, and outreach resource. GLHN collaborated closely with stakeholders to modernize the infrastructure while respecting the program’s ongoing operations. The project included replacement of outdated equipment, improvements to vehicle access, and enhancements to facility security, all aimed at improving functionality, safety, and long-term performance.
This Design-Build project emphasized efficiency, communication, and responsiveness to the University’s goals. By combining technical expertise with an understanding of the facility’s academic mission, GLHN helped create a renewed space that supports student success, advances applied research, and strengthens ties between the University and the community it serves.
