GLHN renovated approximately 21,000 SF of a former cath lab into administrative and faculty offices for the University of Arizona Medical Imaging Department, enhancing collaboration and natural light through a reimagined west façade.

The University of Arizona Health Sciences Building 201 First Floor Medical Imaging Tenant Improvement reimagines approximately 21,000 SF of former cath lab space into a welcoming, functional workplace for the University of Arizona Medical Imaging Department. Designed to support collaboration, learning, and well-being, the renovated space includes faculty offices, huddle and conference rooms, a lecture-style training room, flexible work and lounge areas, lockers, a resident lounge, a wellness room, and breakroom spaces that enhance day-to-day experience.

A key priority for the department was access to natural light as an important driver of wellness and productivity. In response, GLHN opened the building’s west façade, dramatically transforming the interior environment. Drawing from the architectural language of the building’s upper floors, the design incorporates larger steel members with glazing, radiused steel supports, and segmented storefront systems to maximize daylight while respecting the existing structure. The result is a thoughtfully designed, adaptable space that reflects GLHN’s commitment to technical expertise, user-centered design, and creating environments that support people and purpose.
