GLHN’s Architecture Department hosted a mixer with The University of Arizona’s College of Architecture student chapter of the SACAIA. GLHN’s Brian Hagedon, Director of Architecture, and Carl Kilgore, Department Manager, along with architectural team members Dustin Diaz, Sharon Lew, Rahil Zarpoush, Joyce Kelly and UA Architecture intern Sacha Kessler shared the unique workings of a well-established Architecture & Engineering firm founded here Tucson, AZ. Students mixed with the architecture staff where they discussed everything from how GLHN, as an A/E firm, differs from other architecture firms to general questions about practice, our industry and where we see the practice of architecture evolving, as well as the benefits of working side by side with in-house engineering teams and the variety of projects we are able to pursue. The GLHN staff posed a question to the students asking if they were more design or technical oriented? After discussion, the students were surprised to find out they lean more towards a technical orientation, which is a plus for GLHN.
