What an amazing way to celebrate a milestone! Our partners, Lloyd Construction Company, Inc. hosted their 50th Anniversary party at Reid Park Zoo and GLHN was there. It was a perfect Tucson fall afternoon and the animals were just waking from their afternoon naps and up for a snack. The event had animal encounters where zoo staff prepared lettuce and carrots for the attendees to feed the Giraffes. Tiffany Gorrell, Senior Marketing Coordinator and Bill Koller, Mechanical Engineering Department Manager anxiously and happily fed Denver, a 30-year old female who is the second oldest giraffe in an AZA-accredited zoo. Her younger zoo-mate, Jasiri, a marvelously tall 8-year old male giraffe, was too timid to partake in snacks. All who attended enjoyed good food, carousel rides and great company.
