Tooker House Engineering Residence Hall
Arizona State University
This fall ASU unveiled a new $120M residence hall for engineering students featuring on-site digital classrooms and makerspaces with 3D printers, laser cutters and other design tools. GLHN partnered with American Campus Communities to provide fast-track Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design services for the 7-story, 458,000 SF Tooker House which is seeking LEED Gold certification. Mechanical systems in the building are on display, feeding into an engineer’s desire to see how things work. The project houses 1,600 students who enjoy special features such as onsite dining and Bluetooth-enabled laundry rooms that notify them when their clothes are dry. The project architect was Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the contractor was Okland Construction. Renderings by Solomon Cordwell Buenz. Photo by Deanna Dent/ASU Now.
