Doug Stingelin, PEDirector of Mechanical Engineering
Doug has an advanced degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus on Environment and is a Certified Commissioning Process Provider with the University of Wisconsin. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, Doug leads our Building Commissioning Team as they work with clients to ensure their buildings meet owner requirements and expectations. GLHN’s focus on highly functioning and laboratory buildings contributes to the team’s expertise, as they are tasked with commissioning emerging technologies that contribute to sustainability and net-zero energy use. In recent years, Doug has found success providing MEP solutions for multi-family construction, particularly for privately owned student housing across the country. Working with a diverse team of consultants, Doug’s ability to coordinate and nimbly respond to design changes makes him a desirable consultant on these complex projects. Doug was recently promoted to Director of Mechanical Engineering. In this role he provides general oversight to the department while focusing on client success.
“What’s great about commissioning is that our involvement continues after construction is complete and owner occupied. We have the rare opportunity to see how the building is actually being used and then fine-tune the systems we designed to meet real world needs.”
