The estimated $43 million University of Arizona ENR2 project (check out the awesome interactive website by Kitchen Sink Studios!) received Project Implementation Approval by the Arizona Board of Regents in November 2011 and is progressing to the Design Development Phase. The project will be the centerpiece of the UA Environmental and Natural Resources program. The building represents total integration of architecture and engineered systems and will include laboratories, classrooms, offices, meeting, and auditorium spaces. To meet the UA’s goal for LEED Platinum certification will require technologically-innovative methods to reduce energy consumption, decrease water use, and increase the useful life of the building components and spaces.
