Theodore Moeller, P.E.Director of Electrical Engineering
Ted Moeller received his electrical engineering degree from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, so it’s no surprise that he brings a great deal of creativity to his work. He focuses on design for lighting and power systems as well as on writing technical standards and specifications. Ted is the principal in our growing Phoenix office where he’s responsible for staffing, business development, and client retention.
Ted is experienced in managing power outages, both unanticipated and scheduled during the construction process. With his strong background in facility condition assessments, he can quickly and efficiently identify and remedy issues in aging buildings. Ted enjoys designing electrical systems for parks and recreation projects, particularly sports field lighting. He turned his experiences and lessons learned into a presentation titled “Bright Lights, Safe City,” which he delivered at the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association annual conference. A LEED Accredited Professional, Ted has provided electrical design for Platinum, Gold, and Silver certified buildings for public clients. He also led GLHN’s internal efforts to obtain LEED for Existing Buildings certification for our own 1950-vintage Tucson office building, which resulted in LEED-EB Gold certification.
A talented speaker and educator, Ted regularly presents on a wide range of technical topics to industry groups, and in 2019, he embarked on a secondary career as an adjunct instructor in the University of Arizona’s architectural engineering program.
“The collaborative foundation of GLHN fosters creativity and innovation. I’ve been fortunate to work with clients and owners that embrace that spirit and want to work together to see what we can make happen.”
