GLHN is proud to announce that John Jolly, Justin Jolly, and Joyce Kelly were presented with Awards of Merit by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) for their lighting design for the University of Arizona’s Environment and Natural Resources 2 (ENR2). The LEED Platinum facility is configured as two, five-story rectilinear buildings united by an open courtyard. The design strives to evoke the experience of a desert slot canyon, providing the benefits of daylighting, views and landscaped green space. Our lighting designers carefully positioned path downlights to also illuminate seating and planting areas while grazing the walls to highlight subtle masonry details. This shared use reduced both energy and construction costs. The IES Illumination Awards provide a unique opportunity to recognize professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design.
