Every year GLHN holds a Dog Dayz of May event where we grill up hot dogs and provide toppings of every flavor. This year, however, we were inspired to go a little further. Our Mechanical Engineering Department Manager Bill Koller brought his custom built smoker and Commissioning Agent Lee Masse supplied a wild caught hog to launch what has been dubbed GLHN’s first Hog Dayz of May. To complement the whole hog which was smoked from 4:00 am to noon that day, GLHN employees participated in a barbeque sauce contest.  Winners included Bill Koller who took home the grand prize with best overall sauce.  Jennifer Ellsworth won first place for the best sweet sauce, Mary Martin won for the best spicy sauce, and Ted Moeller took home first place for the best specialty sauce. Employees, family, and friends enjoyed a feast of smoked hog and all the fixing at our Tucson office.
