Shades of purple and pink African Violets were the flowers for this GLHN Valentine’s Day. Bill Nelson and Cloriza Lomeli’s traditional distribution of appreciation, giving of these beautiful and colorful African Violets, was not quite the same this year. Mr. Nelson was missing. Missing this event for the first time in 15 years Bill was feeling under the weather . . . and he was greatly missed. The recipients of these flowers: clients, friends and business partners, usually greeted by Bill’s smiling face and huge heart, settled for a solitary Cloriza sharing the woe of Bill and building prayers and well wishes. Despite Bill’s absence, Cloriza completed the rounds and soaked in the appreciation from all. This year Cloriza was delighted to be the recipient of holiday cheer and received the gift of a box of chocolates from a client. Bill received well wishes in an email: “I’m so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. We missed seeing you today for the traditional delivery. J Thank you for always thinking of us.” Renee Cota, UAFM.
