GLHN’s Giant Teeter Totter Returns to Tucson Festival of Books

March 11-12, 2017

As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to educating future engineers, GLHN once again brought their giant teeter totter to Science City at the Tucson Festival of Books.  Known as Mechanical Advantage, this educational program presents the basic fundamentals of engineering in a fun and engaging manner.  The teeter totter provides kids and their parents with a hands-on experience that demonstrates the power of a lever and fulcrum mechanical system. The 60 Pound Challenge is another key part of Mechanical Advantage.  Using a pulley comprised of wheels and rope, students are challenged to lift 60 pound concrete blocks.
