GLHN Staff Tours New Streetcar Facility

Architect Maria Ruedinger gave her GLHN coworkers a preview of the new $18 million City of Tucson Streetcar Maintenance and Storage Facility on Friday, March 29, 2013. The project is receiving a lot of local publicity and the firm is excited to be involved in one of the City’s most significant downtown projects. Construction will be completed in the coming weeks and the streetcars will arrive later this year. GLHN is Architect and Engineer of Record. The project is designed for LEED Silver certification and used Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology.

GLHN has over fifteen years experience in designing transportation facilities, leading projects for City of Tucson, City of Sierra Vista, City of Mesa, City of Phoenix, and City of Peoria as well as for the Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (NAIPTA), Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, and University of Arizona. Facilities have been designed to accommodate streetcars, bus fleets, car and van fleets, police and SWAT cars and armored equipment, trucks, and off-road equipment.
