GLHN architects guided firm staff on a tour of the nearly completed University of Arizona Environment and Natural Resources 2 (ENR2) project on June 24, 2015. The new 128,000 SF structure will complete construction this summer. The design borrows from the iconic imagery of the desert and the evocative sequence of the desert slot canyon. The building represents total integration of architecture and engineered systems, using technologically-innovative methods to reduce energy consumption, decrease water use, and increase the useful life of the building components and spaces. The project is tracking LEED Platinum certification. GLHN is Architect and Engineer of Record on the project, richärd + bauer is Design Architect, and Hensel Phelps is the contractor.
