GLHN Presents with UA at Bay Area APPA Conference

Henry Johnstone, President of GLHN Architects & Engineers and Christopher M. Kopach, Assistant Vice President, Facilities Management at The University of Arizona and APPA President, presented at the Bay APPA Annual Meeting and Exhibition this summer.  The presentation, “Condition Assessments – How to Keep Deferred Maintenance from Nipping at Your Heels” discussed the typical paradigm of underfunded building renewal and the technical and human-related issues that can result.  Recommendations included determining the priority and cost of building renewal, weighing renewal against complete rebuild, and acquiring necessary funding.  GLHN and the University are currently working together to address deferred maintenance at the Veterinary Sciences building on the Tucson campus.
