Henry Johnstone, President of GLHN Architects & Engineers and Christopher M. Kopach, Assistant Vice President, Facilities Management at The University of Arizona and APPA President, presented a webinar to higher learning institutions in the State of Washington. Titled “Infrastructure Planning and Utility Roadmap,” the presentation outlined a process that can lead to continuous improvement for campus utility systems. Learning objectives included the appreciation and importance of utility metering and establishment of routine operating metrics as planning tools. Also discussed was understanding the value of a program to periodically assess campus utility system conditions, reliability, and cost of service. A highlight of the program focused on recognizing opportunities to distill often complex campus utility data into simple graphics for use in preparing materials to articulate financial opportunities to the administration. The Best Practice APPA Webinar series is hosted by The University of Arizona and webinars are held the last Thursday of the month. For more information contact Cloriza Lomeli at email@example.com.
